These eleven days are among the most festive of the year in Thessaloniki. The city celebrates its patron saint, Agios Dimitrios, with a procession on Sunday 25 October and the feast itself on Monday 26, the same evening Al Di Meola closes the 61st Dimitria festival at the Concert Hall. Two days later, 28 October (Ohi Day) is a national holiday, traditionally marked with a parade on the seafront, and the week ends with Halloween parties and the first Thess Youth Festival.

Our top picks come first, followed by everything else day by day: concerts, stand-up, theatre, shows for kids, exhibitions and nights out. Use the category buttons to see only what interests you.

We checked every date, time and venue on the organisers' or ticket pages. Plans can still change at the last minute, so a quick look at the event link before you go is always a good idea.

Good to know: 26 October is a local holiday and 28 October a national one, so the centre will be busy and festive – book a table if you plan to eat out. Clocks go back one hour on Sunday 25 October.
